Glossop is gearing up for a bumper cultural weekend, with the Victorian Heritage weekend, the Derbyshire Open Arts roving art exhibition, Hadfield Open Art Show's children's exhibition and trail - AND the Glossop North End Beer Festival - all taking place in the town and around.
The events mark a turning point for the town as it emerges from the pandemic, so there is no doubt that the events will all be well attended as locals and visitors hit the streets to have some fun.
Steven Dexter from Glossop Creates, said: "Glossop is a melting pot of creativity and community spirit. It's wonderful to see the Victorian Weekend return to the town, and we are so excited about the GNE Beer Festival which promises to be a great event for any craft ale fans in the town and beyond, as well as the art exhibitions taking place in and around Glossop.
"On top of the events and attractions, Glossop also boasts beautiful landscaped parks, play areas and a heritage high street packed full of independent shops, boutiques, galleries, bars and restaurants serving up local dishes and produce. A great location for a fun filled weekend for visitors and locals alike. Our own gift shop and print studio, KIN.DER on Arundel Street, stocks a wide range of prints, cards, homeware, t-shirts and creations by local artists and makers. Definitely one to add to your mooching list!
"Glossop Creates aims to platform and bring together the town's huge creative community, with network meetings, artist residencies, mentoring schemes, events and offering guidance and support in order to make fantastic things happen in our town. There are exciting things happening in this special town and we urge people to get in touch to find out more."

Hadfield Open Arts Show - Children's Exhibition and Trail
Hadfield Open Art Show is back this year, and bigger and better than ever with a packed programme of events. This weekend, the wonderful Children's Art Exhibition and Children's Art Trail both launch at The Craft Barn in Hadfield.
The exhibition will be open from 10am - 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, visitors can pick up a map for the Children’s Art Trail through Hadfield and participants can answer questions by spotting masterpieces in various windows. Completed sheets can be exchanged for a free gift.
Julia Norton, manager of The Craft Barn, said: "This Saturday sees the launch of the 10th Hadfield Open Art Show and it's set to be a record breaker! We have been flooded with entries for both the Adults' Show in Hadfield Hall and the Children's Exhibition in The Craft Barn. We can't wait for visitors to come and see this extraordinary celebration of creativity by all ages in our community. Not only that, but we also have artists in residence in the Community Room with Greg Williamson on Saturday and Karen Heywood on Sunday inviting the public to see them at work. Children can also take part in a free Art Trail through the village by collecting a map from The Craft Barn. Hadfield Open Art Show runs until Saturday 4th June so lots of opportunities to visit!"
