Hadfield Open Art Show is back bigger and better this year with a packed programme of events for all the family. It will take place from 28th May to 4th June at Hadfield Hall, The Craft Barn, and St.Andrew's Church.
Here's what's in store for artists and visitors:
Entries welcome from artists in Glossopdale and further afield. Bring your artwork and completed entry form to Hadfield Hall on May 24th, 2-7pm. Adults can submit up to three pieces (£3 per piece). Entry forms are online at www.hadfieldhall.wordpress.com or email hadfieldartshow@gmail.com Judges are Glossop photographer Adrian Lambert, textile/3D artist Maxine Pigram, and Buxton artist Carl Longmate.
Children's work (one piece of work per child under the age of 16, free entry) should be brought to The Craft Barn on 24th May between 2-6pm. This year's judge will be professional artist Alison Hargreaves. There will also be a Children's Art Trail and Family Workshops throughout the week. Visit https://thecraftbarnhadfield.co.uk/hadfield-open-art-show for more information.
Open to artists aged 16 and over painting views in and around Hadfield (entry fee ¬£5). Artists should bring their paper or canvas to the Community Room (below Hadfield Library) between 8.30 - 11am on 3rd June to be stamped before they paint or draw their favourite view, then return it to be displayed before 3.30pm. The public will vote for the winner between 4-5pm and that artist will receive £50.
Organiser Annette Hetherington told Glossop Creates: "After the popular event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021, we are really looking forward to an inspiring, exciting, and record-breaking art extravaganza. There's such a lot going on!"
