Every pound spent is then spent again by the owner and employees of the shop or venue - meaning that £100 spent in a local store contributes, on average, £600 to the local economy. 4CGm's research also found that the same amount in a large supermarket contributes just 25p. With staggering figures like that, there is no better time to support your local independents by shopping locally and creating a resilient local economy.
