The Local Winter Story Trail is in full swing, and as Glossop folk journey around the town in search of yarns, tales and poems, we shine a well-deserved spotlight on some of the establishments that celebrate books and stories all year round… Glossop is lucky to boast two incredible indie bookshops, an excellent standalone charity bookshop and a magnificent library - all in the town centre. Hadfield, which also has a fantastic library, is proud to be the home village of legendary novelist, Dame Hilary Mantel, who’s legacy we commemorate with the creative campaign over the festive period. Winter Story Trail maps can be picked up for free from any of the venues below, so why not grab yourself a new book, purchase some literary presents for friends and family - and grab a free map at the same time?Dark Peak Books & Gifts96 High St West, Glossop SK13 8BB Formerly Bay Tree Books, Dark Peak Books & Gifts is a long-established independent book and gift shop situated on High Street West, offering a carefully selected choice of brilliant books, greetings cards and gifts.
