Glossop's independent and small business community have been using their creative skills and networks to raise much-needed funds for various Ukraine appeals.

‍Hummingbird Hubs - Collecting donations via PayPal (hummingbirdhubs@gmail.com) for aid purchased at source, raised over £3.5k so far which is being used to purchase medical and essential aid for Ukrainians fleeing and those who remain in the country. Hosting Virtual Car Boot sale this weekend (12 & 13 March).

Ghislaine Howard - Artist Ghislaine has been supporting Ukraine with donations from 365 series painting sales.

‍Harvey Leonard's - The bar and artisan drinks purveyor has implemented tip drives to donate money to the British Red Cross, DEC and Doctors without Borders. Harvey Leonard's has also been serving up Ukrainian Olivye Salad with proceeds going to the BRC's Ukraine appeal.

Pixie Bakes - Collecting specific aid items for Ukraine and donating special cake sales to the Red Cross.  

‍

‍Dandelion Craft - Crafting for Ukraine - Inviting children aged 6 and over to create a giant sunflower in craft sessions - with all fees raised from sessions going to the DEC for Ukraine.

‍Lucy Gell - Illustrator and printmaker Lucy has created 50 two-colour greeting cards featuring docs to raise money for the British Red Cross Ukraine appeal.

Brie for Tea - Donating money from sales of cheese boards to the Hummingbird Project.

‍

‍Norris Floristry - Selling sunflowers (the national symbol of Ukraine) and donating all profits to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal and the British Red Cross.

‍Beauty by Becky Burt - Conducting a raffle via Facebook page for Ukraine with donated local prizes including beauty treatments, afternoon tea boxes, Joli Sparkles candles and cupcakes.

‍Bay Tree Books - Packed with Hope campaign - The Glossop shop is donating new books to the Packed With Hope campaign, run by two small independent publishers down in the South-West, and they are inviting their customers to get involved.  

‍

‍Little Toller and Blue Moose Books are aiming to fill 10,000 backpacks for displaced Ukrainian child refugees. Starting with storybooks, every one of the backpacks will be filled with a selection of items that are both comforting and essential, such as head torches, notepads, colouring pencils, toothbrushes, puzzles, playing cards, activity books, bags of marbles, hot water bottles, socks, hats and scarfs, reusable drinking bottles, and many other much-needed things. Bay Tree is inviting customers to purchase a children's book to donate to the campaign with a 30% discount on the RRP of the book, and all donations matched.

George's Charity Stuff - Local children George and Isy are making Ukraine keyrings and selling them at the Spring Fair at Victoria Hall this weekend.
