KIN.DER - introducing a new creative co-operative space for Glossop

Glossop Creates teams up with local creatives to launch first arts space for the town.
The Glossop Creates team, alongside Dark Peak Press, Lauren Riley Design and Richard Tymon Photography, has taken over a space on the ground floor at Glossop Gasworks on Arundel Street and has transformed it into a creative, co-operative venue for the arts.
KIN.DER is situated in the old Wain's Art Supplies site and is home to a small shop, print studio and meeting space. The team behind KIN.DER plans to use the space to hold workshops, talks, presentations, performances, markets, classes, events and more in the future.
Claire Tymon, founder of Glossop Creates, said: "KIN.DER reflects the Glossop Creates values - we support and engage with independent businesses and the creative community, celebrate Glossop and the local area and create a sense of place and community. We always strive to be kind, inclusive and collaborative, and we hope that this space encourages local creatives, gives them a sense of place and an accessible venue that can be utilised to grow and support their business or creative endeavour.
"We want to encourage and support the town's creative community to build their own projects, campaigns and initiatives and we cannot wait to see how the space evolves alongside Glossop's incredibly talented, diverse bunch of creatives.
"We plan to launch a KIN.DER residency soon where local artists will have the opportunity to base their practice in the space, use our facilities, benefit from our collaborative, skills-sharing environment and experience life in a creative space in the heart of Glossop. With many artists in the area needing studio space, we hope our model can be a catalyst for other spaces and collaborative groups to start sharing ideas and working together in the town and its surrounding villages. Submissions for this will begin soon and we welcome any discipline or project, from graphic designers, to painters and textile artists, that feel they could benefit from working closely with us."
