The second Glossop Creates network meeting was an all-round success, as over 70 people from Glossop's creative, food and drink and music communities came together at the Crystal Ballroom to discuss future plans, collaborate and find out the latest news from the team at Glossop Creates and KIN.DER.
Singer and guitarist Harry Heart performed an acoustic set as people arrived, and after an update from Claire Tymon and Steven Dexter about the latest Arts Council bid and future plans for the campaign, the crowd was treated to talks and announcements by artist Ghislaine Howard, storyteller Mark P Henderson, Adrian Holt from Derbyshire Open Arts, Danny James from Distant Hills Brewing, Joss Underwood from the Tent People and more.
Dr Tim Campbell Green, who led the last WAN.DER also spoke about his curated walk, and Ghislaine announced information from Michael Howard on his forthcoming WAN.DER walk which will delve into the life and times of Wittgenstein, who once lived at The Grouse, Chunill.
Steven Dexter, community producer for Glossop Creates, said: "At the meeting, we heard some concerns about cost of living and support for artists and businesses, which we didn't have time to address during this event. Therefore, the next network meeting will take the form of a discussion where we all contribute ideas, concerns and co-design solutions to the issues facing our town and its artisans that give the place such a unique character."
It will take place on Monday 18th July to allow more food and drink businesses to attend on their quieter days. Venue will be confirmed soon.
