The Dance Project is back in Glossop for a third time

January 26, 2023

And all online ticket holders get a free drink on the night...

The now-legendary Dance Project is back in Glossop after two sell-out events at the Crystal Ballroom, with the third instalment of the house music night taking place on 15th October 2022.   Sponsored by Finders Spirits, every online ticket holder will also grab a free Gin or Rum with a mixer on the night, too.

After the success of the summer event which saw Jon DaSilva take to the decks, the October event will showcase the talents of James Holroyd (Bugged Out) & VEBA (Groove Armada), and hosted by Manchester legend MC Kwasi (Mr Scruff).

DJ James Holroyd a.k.a Boggy started plying his trade back in 1991 in the heady days of the original Back To Basics at Leeds' Music Factory. He was introduced to the decks playing a mixture of funk, house, disco and hip hop, and by 1992 his unique style and cheeky personality had secured him a job as resident.

In 1993 he joined forces with the Jockey Slut Magazine team to form a house and techno based club night called Bugged Out. In 1997 this weekly night earned itself the Muzik Magazine Award for Club of the Year. James has also warmed up live crowds for Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier & Derrick Carter to name a few, and is still resident at Bugged Out playing across the UK and Europe.

Veba, a one-woman music-machine wizard made her name as the voice behind Rae & Christian before paving the rest of the way providing lungs for Yesking, Nightmares on Wax and Groove Armada.

Veba provided her unique vocal skills on several tracks for Grand Central records, most famously 'Spellbound', one of the most iconic soul tunes ever to be produced in Manchester, released in 1996.

As a DJ, her distinct blend of deep house, disco and soulful house has earned her residencies at some of Manchester's finest clubs

MC Kwasi (aka the Smile Factory) will be helping the vibes along! King of the mic Kwasi has worked with more artists and DJs than you could imagine. Possibly most famous as Mr Scruff's wing man, the loveable MC was the host of the seminal Friends & Family events.

Event founder Carlie Ashcroft said: "It's just so fantastic to bring such legends to Glossop, and the Dance Project is gaining a real cult following amongst house music fans. The October event promises to be an absolute banger with some incredible talent on the decks. Grab your tickets quick so you don't miss our!"
