Think of The Living Room as a kind of living history of Glossop where you can explore local knowledge and help to preserve Glossop’s past, capture the present and share your ideas for the future.
Everyone is welcome to explore, use and contribute to The Living Room, with features to discover and upload all sorts of media. See what’s on the TV, put the radio on or browse a photo album, whatever you click, it’s all about Glossop!

How can you contribute to The Living Room?
Do you have something to share about Glossop? Perhaps you have some old photos you’d love to share or a link to some interesting local history. Or maybe you filmed something on your phone that everyone needs to see!
The Living Room doesn’t exist without you, so we’d love for you to get involved. You can send us a link, share a photo or even leave a recording. If it tells the story of Glossop, it belongs in The Living Room.

Why create The Living Room?
The Living Room has been developed by Local, the creative placemaking organisation leading Glossop Creates. We collaborate with local communities to shape places that are more relevant, accessible and sustainable for the future. www.wearelocal.org.uk
We wanted to create a place where local people can celebrate the community and tell your town’s story in your own words. Whatever your age, background or local interests, we want this space to represent everything that makes Glossop what it is. And to capture your experiences for future generations.
But it’s not just about treasured memories or what life is like today. We also want The Living Room to inspire how Glossop evolves and changes over the years to come. We’d love people to share their hopes and ideas about what they want from Glossop. And for these ideas to inspire local communities, from schools and tourists, to developers and town planners. Wouldn’t that be great?
