Description
Your tutor will introduce you to what the workshop will cover at the start of the session. You will learn the core elements of stained glass making such as, cutting and shaping glass, Tiffany method of copper foiling, lead soldering, shaping and joining glass. Your tutor will help you improve your stained glass making skills to create your own pumpkin and acorns project.
Who is this course is for?
This course is for you if want to design and create items of unique stained glass, if you are a beginner or have done some stained glass making before. Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based workshop a mix of tutor-led, group and individual practical activities with guidance from your tutor. An opportunity to have a go at stained glass in a safe, friendly sociable environment. You will be given support and feedback from your tutor so you can improve.
What will I need?
Please wear old clothes or a shirt or apron that you don't mind getting messy. Please wear covered footwear (no sandals or open toes) and a hair tie to fasten long hair back. If you wear glasses for close work, please bring them with you.
You will also need to bring lunch and drinks with you or be prepared to pop out and get some from nearby shops. The venue does not have any facilities for food.
The course will be mostly practical, but you may want to bring something to make notes.
