This year, many of your favourite small independent local retailers from the town centre have gathered together as a new retail collective - named Glorious Glossop - and will be offering late opening ‘til 7pm on Thursdays 12th and 19th December, in order to support the town and help more people to shop local this Christmas!

Glossop offers a unique and charming Christmas shopping experience, far removed from the hustle and bustle of larger towns and cities. The friendly atmosphere and warm welcome from local businesses make it a pleasure to explore, while the stunning backdrop of the Peak District adds to the festive charm. So, forget the crowded shopping malls and impersonal chain stores. In Glossop, you can discover hidden gems, support local artisans and shopkeepers and you'll find a delightful array of unique gifts and festive treats for all your family and friends.

Participating retailers include Dark Peak Books and Gifts, which offers beautiful books, cards and small gifts, KIN.DER on Arundel Street, which has a vast selection of prints and locally sourced gift items, Norris Floristry, a stunning local florist shop which stocks gorgeous seasonal wreaths and florals, The Artful Pigeon, a gallery and shop that stocks items made by local creatives, and The Bottle Store on George Street, which sells a variety of spirits and non-alcoholic drinks that are perfect for the festive season.
