The Dark Peak Photo Festival Returns!‍

January 9, 2025

After last year’s inaugural Festival, we caught up with co-founder Carys Kaiser about the launch of Dark Peak Photo Festival Lite in February.

She told us: “We’re excited to announce Dark Peak Photo Festival Lite 2025! While the decision to create a "Lite" version of the festival was primarily driven by time and budget constraints, it also sets the stage for our bi-annual festival model. Conceived in 2023, the Dark Peak Photo Festival underwent a full year of planning and execution for its inaugural event in 2024. However, we knew that after the intensity of launching in 2024, we couldn’t take a full year off. Instead, we’ve chosen to focus our energy on Festival Lite in 2025, while preparing behind the scenes for the larger, more ambitious festival in 2026.

Open Call -  Lost and Found

“This year’s Festival will feature the open call with new and improved mounting system for the photography, is free to enter and includes a participation fee (if selected) which covers all printing, and expenses that the festival will incur.  The open call gallery will run across businesses and shop windows on Glossop High Street and on side streets including George Street.

“The call is open to photographers at all levels, from those working as photographic artists to people who are enthusiasts with phone cameras.  The theme is Lost and Found and this is open to artistic and content interpretation.”

The Festival also features workshops and photo walks, including:
